Pool of Young Journalists in Europe
Eurodesk and the European Commission are inviting young journalists across Europe to join the pool of young journalists and put their skills into practice and report on issues that matter to them.
Being part of the pool of young journalists in Europe, you will make your voice heard by producing different kinds of content (writing, pictures, podcasting, videos…). The content produced by the Pool will be highlighted on the European Youth Portal (EYP) and its social media channels.
What is the pool
- A team of 8-12 young journalists, from 18 to 30 years old, residing in one of the EU or Erasmus+ associated countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Türkiye), available to contribute for a 1-year period (until the end of 2025).
- The content to be produced will focus on various topics that matter to young people in Europe from a personal and authentic point of view. You will have the freedom to develop content on topics that you are interested in. You can use various storytelling formats such as articles, videos, photos and podcasts.
- You will write in English.
How it works
- Selection of the young journalists in November 2024.
- Meeting and training of the pool in January/February 2024 in Brussels (to be confirmed).Ongoing access to webinars with specialists.
- Participation in online editorial meetings (one each month) and producing 3 pieces of content per month. (articles/videos/podcasts/other formats) solo or in teams.
- You may be required to travel 1-3 times during the year to participate in international events.
- Ongoing evaluation and feedback of the Pool by Eurodesk Brussels Link and experts involved.
- The young journalists will work on a voluntary basis.
