The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) encourages all Europeans and not only to carry out awareness-raising actions about sustainable resource and waste management during a single week in November.

The European Week for Waste Reduction works with the waste hierarchy. They promote REDUCING consumption, REUSING products and materials, and RECYCLING waste. They also feature clean-ups.

The Euro-Med Week for Waste Reduction (EMWWR) is a raising-awareness campaign on waste prevention in the Mediterranean region, highly inspired by the consolidated experience and results of the EWWR. Discover the 4 winners of this year’s EMWWR competition.

A sister campaign – Let’s Clean Up Europe!

While promoting the waste prevention, we do not forget of the importance of clean-up actions to collect, sort and recycle the waste that ended up in our environment. For this, the EWWR sister campaign Let’s Clean Up Europe! is active all over Europe by implementing clean-up actions.

3 ways of participating in the European Week for Waste Reduction:

1. Carry out an awareness raising action as an Action Developer

No matter who you are! The EWWR is open to everyone: public authorities, associations/NGOs, businesses, educational establishments, other bodies and individual citizens

2. Join an existing action as a Participant
If you are: an individual citizen or a group

3. Coordinate the EWWR in your area as a Coordinator
If you are: a public authority competent in the field of waste prevention
