DiscoverEU is an initiative of the European Union that gives 18-year-olds the opportunity to discover Europe by train. It aims to empower young European citizens to:
- experience and learn about Europe
- discover opportunities that Europe has to offer them
- connect with other young people from across Europe and share and celebrate European culture
- travel in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way
- grow in independence, confidence and openness to other cultures.
To be eligible to apply, you must be
- born on or between 1 July 2004 – 30 June 2005
- a legal resident of an EU Member State or Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia or Turkey
- Ready for the adventure of a lifetime
Selected applicants who are resident in Ireland can travel by plane to begin their DiscoverEU journey in a European country of your choice. You can start and finish your journey in two different countries!
